1 John 2:15-17 (ESV)
15 Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world,
the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh
and the desires of the eyes and pride of life is not from the Father but is from the world.
17 And the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever.
Unwanted Behaviours and life bondage ARE the world hateing them.
Delving into the waters of human desire and emotion are the reasons I play the music I play. And I've never felt this podcast should only preach to the choir. And truth is music simply identifies an emotional place in time. While we live in these "earth suits" (Our Flesh) and in this world our desires are going to pull us in certain directions. While our spirit is walking on the journey in the kingdom of heaven (Life) our flesh will continually work to pull us in the opposite direction (Death). We all feel It's as if the very world our flesh is living on and feeding off hates our very being. Listeners to this podcast know that truth for I/we were lead down the flesh's road beyond our own will to change direction by own flesh's willpower. This is the bondage of a bad habit, addiction, complution or stubborn sin. The point of the music is to clearify some of the struggle and fight between the flesh and the spirit as a continual reminder of the real idenity of a blood bought beliver who is "in the world but not of the world."
John 17:14-18 (ESV)
14 I have given them your word, and the world has hated them because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. 15 I do not ask that you take them out of the world, but that you keep them from the evil one. 16 They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. 17 Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth. 18 As you sent me into the world, so I have sent them into the world.
Aren't you afraid this music would be tempting or causing a brother or sister to stumble?
Music isn't "Christian" people are and wrighting a song or liking a song springs from with in a person's heart. Spiritual songs are good but why do we sing them? Why do we like the music we like? Truly isn't the real question can music defile a person?
Mark 7:14-23 (ESV) And he called the people to him again and said to them, “Hear me, all of you, and understand: 15 There is nothing outside a person that by going into him can defile him, but the things that come out of a person are what defile him.” 17 And when he had entered the house and left the people, his disciples asked him about the parable. 18 And he said to them, “Then are you also without understanding? Do you not see that whatever goes into a person from outside cannot defile him, 19 since it enters not his heart but his stomach, and is expelled?”[f] (Thus he declared all foods clean.) 20 And he said, “What comes out of a person is what defiles him. 21 For from within,
out of the heart of man, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, 22 coveting, wickedness, deceit, sensuality, envy, slander, pride, foolishness. 23 All these evil things come from within, and they defile a person.
